Call for Nominations: GAI Fellow Award 2026

GAI Fellow 2025 - Jo Milne-Rowe

The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers is now inviting nominations for the 2026 Fellow Award — the highest individual honour awarded by the GAI.

Each year, the Fellow Award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the architectural ironmongery industry and demonstrated exceptional service, leadership and commitment to the profession.

This is an opportunity to recognise those individuals who have helped shape the industry through their expertise, influence, mentorship, technical contribution, support of the Guild, or long-standing dedication to raising standards across the sector.

Whether through education, technical leadership, innovation, business leadership, industry collaboration or supporting the next generation of professionals, Fellows represent individuals whose contribution has left a lasting impact on the architectural ironmongery community.

Who can be nominated?

In line with the award criteria, nominees should:

  • Hold current GAI membership and have done so for a significant period (10 years or more)
  • Demonstrate an exceptional level of knowledge, skill and professionalism in architectural ironmongery
  • Show active participation in the Guild’s activities, such as mentoring, education, technical committees or governance roles
  • Exhibit leadership within the profession and be respected by peers for their integrity, knowledge and commitment
  • Support the ongoing development and education of the industry, including future generations of professionals

Nominations are welcomed from across the architectural ironmongery community, including colleagues, employers, peers and fellow members who wish to recognise an individual’s contribution to the profession.

Why nominate?

Many of the individuals who make the biggest difference within the industry do so quietly, consistently and without recognition. The Fellow Award provides an opportunity to formally acknowledge those who have dedicated time, expertise and leadership to improving the profession and supporting others within it. If someone has made a meaningful impact on your career, organisation, the Guild or the wider industry, now is the time to recognise their contribution.
