Call for Nominations: GAI Executive Committee 2026

The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers is inviting nominations from eligible Full member companies for positions on the GAI Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee plays a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of the Guild, helping to ensure that GAI continues to support its members, champion competence and professionalism, and respond to the changing needs of the architectural ironmongery industry. If you're passionate about the future of the sector and believe you can make a positive contribution, now is your opportunity to get involved.

Who can stand?

To be eligible, nominees must:

  • Be employed by a GAI Full member company.
  • Hold the position of Director or a similar senior role within their organisation.
  • Have the support of their employer.
  • Be willing to represent the interests of the wider GAI membership.

Executive Committee members are expected to contribute actively to discussions, uphold the Guild's values and governance standards, and help promote the benefits of GAI membership across the industry.

What does the role involve?

The Executive Committee meets four times a year, with a mixture of face-to-face and online meetings. Members may also be invited to serve on sub-committees and are expected to prepare for meetings by reviewing papers and contributing to informed decision-making. Committee members are required to observe strict confidentiality and comply with the Guild's policies relating to conflicts of interest and anti-competitive behaviour.

How to nominate?

Nominations should be submitted by email to Rachael Bliss, GAI Chief Executive, using the prescribed nomination form structure. Candidates will also need to provide a supporting manifesto of up to 400 words outlining why they wish to serve on the Executive Committee and what they would bring to the role.

Deadline for nominations: 10.00am BST, Friday 26 June 2026

If the number of nominations exceeds the number of vacancies, an online ballot of GAI Full and Affiliate members will be held, with successful candidates ratified at the GAI AGM in July. Serving on the Executive Committee is an opportunity to help shape the future of the Guild and the wider architectural ironmongery profession. If you believe you can make a positive difference, we encourage you to put yourself forward.
