Fire Door Safety Week Webinars – catch-up now

During Fire Door Safety Week (FDSW) 2022 we hosted two special webinars featuring industry experts, including Douglas Masterson of the GAI, Ryan Hambrook of Forza Doors, Tony Millen of FireDNA and Elliott Brown of The Fire Door Inspectors Ltd. Across the two sessions, they shared insight into all stages of the lifecycle of a fire door and both webinars are now available for members to view.

The first, entitled Fire Doors and critical pre-handover activities, explored the key areas of fire door manufacture, specification, installation, and ironmongery.

Our second webinar explored the post-handover activities in a session entitled Fire Doors and critical post-handover activities. It covered the handover process, maintenance and inspection, and relevant legislation.

GAI Technical Manager, Douglas Masterson, said: “We have had an excellent response, turnout and engagement at both of our sessions during Fire Door Safety Week. In addition to detailed presentations charting the lifecycle of a fire door from its specification and manufacture to its supply, maintenance and inspection, our expert panel had the opportunity to debate a number of key questions. They covered issues such as what they felt was the most critical element of a fire door, as well as how important fire certification is for both manufacture and installation of fire doors.

“Fire Door Safety Week is a hugely worthwhile campaign, which the GAI is delighted to support each year with the over-riding premise that fire doors save lives. “
