The GAI provides members with an online toolkit to produce Declarations of Performance (DoP) for both CE and UKCA marked products. This is required by law for manufacturers, distributors and specifiers of fire door hardware.

The European Construction Products Regulation became mandatory in the UK from 1 July 2013, and as a consequence of this manufacturers had to apply CE marking to any of their products which are covered by a harmonised European standard or Technical Assessment.

In addition to a valid CE Mark, manufacturers are legally required to provide a Declaration of Performance (DoP) with every CE marked product, either with the product or on their website. Without this DoP, the CE Mark is invalid.

UK Government made legislation which came into effect on 1 January 2021 to prepare for the regulation of construction products after Brexit. CE marked products with corresponding Declarations of Performance will still be accepted in the UK until 1 January 2023, after which time they will no longer be accepted unless accompanied by equivalent UKCA marking.

From this date, UKCA marking and corresponding Declarations of Performance will then be required to put on the market any products covered by a designated standard.

Please note that this does not apply to Northern Ireland, which will still require CE marking of product under the Northern Ireland Protocol.
