10 things the GAI can offer you right now

For MDs and business managers:

  • Watch out for our daily bulletins, like this one, with latest news of support from Government and other sources of help during the current coronavirus disruption.
  • Make use of the GAI's new monthly instalment scheme which means you can now pay your annual GAI subscription in 12 equal instalments.
  • Link in to our political work, building relationships with the Construction Leadership Council and government departments, through your participation in our surveys and regular consultation responses.

For technical managers and specifcation teams:

  • The GAI technical helpline is still open and is here to help with all your queries on standards, regulations, legislation and scheduling. Call + 44 (0) 7469 141 657 during business hours.
  • Explore the GAI's technical library - a fantastic resource while you're working from home, with exclusive access to over 70 pieces of technical guidance on the members’ area of the GAI website.
  • In particular, look out for the Quarterly Standards Reviews which detail relevant products and the proposed timetable for changes, amendments or revisions to BS and EN standards, as well as keeping you informed on any new relevant publications.

For RegAIs and staff already enrolled in the GAI Education programme:

  •  Remember that we now have a series of IAI webinars and CPD presentations available to support students and anyone committed to CPD. The first webinar has already launched (on product development and sourcing) and the second (on fire safety) is starting in May.

For staff in furlough:

  •  Take advantage of your preferential rates for the GAI's internationally recognised education programme to build your teams' skills, including the Foundation course for those who may be new to the sector or working in customer service roles, right through to the Certificate in Architectural Hardware, the full GAI Diploma and FDIS qualifications.

For everyone in our industry:

  • The GAI can help to promote what you do! Right now it's very important to keep up your communications and marketing, so make sure we're getting your news stories for the next issue of AIJ.
  • The GAI's own PR campaign is continuing throughout this time, promoting the benefits of working with GAI member companies and RegAIs. Look out for good news that you can share with your contacts on social media.
