    Competition terms of entry

The panel of judges will be looking for the correct specification of architectural ironmongery and fitness for purpose on the nominated building. The judges may, as appropriate, call for further information on projects. The organisers retain the right to amend the competition or competition rules or the criteria for judging. The decisions of the judging panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

It is a condition of entry that the nominee of the project will have obtained the building owner’s consent for a visit to the building to assess the entry. By submitting the entry the nominee agrees to assist the judges and assessors in every way to aid them in the performance of their duties.

    Mandatory requirements

Reason for nominationInclude a concise statement as to why you have entered this project or product. Remember that this is an architectural ironmongery competition and the judges want to learn why you consider the project is special enough to deserve an award. Please also bear in mind that the quality of your entry and the images and information you provide is all the judges will have to assess the quality of your project or product.
Description of productInclude details of why you consider the product specified to be suitable for the project and take the opportunity to include details of any notable product innovations in the specification.

If entering product in to the new product innovation category, please include what you feel makes it particularly noteworthy and in what way you would consider it to be innovative.

Please feel free to describe any unique features e.g. details of the finish, how any sustainability issues have been satisfied, special bespoke requirements, particular product technical requirements which demonstrate fitness for purpose.
Additional Information (relating to product)Take this opportunity to include any added value comments relevant to the project or product entered. For example, include examples where use has been made of modern technologies.
PhotographyThis is crucial to your entry. The judges are not necessarily looking for professional photography – personal cameras or mobile phone images will be considered to be adequate. Entries must include a minimum of six photographs of the project. One photo may be of the building and the remainder should be product related and help support the reason for the nomination. Photos from product catalogues will be ignored. Ensure photography is provided in jpeg format only.
