Andrew Hall

A Chartered Electrical Engineer and a graduate of Imperial College London, Andrew’s early career was spent in the oil industry where he worked and lived overseas in several different countries. For the past 20 years, he has worked in the building services industry, initially in the role of Sales and Marketing Director for a leading UK manufacturer of domestic and commercial heating controls. Since January 2000 he has been Managing Director of GEZE UK, a market leader in the manufacture of door and window controls.

On joining GEZE UK, Andrew quickly recognised that the “distributor” in this industry, the Architectural Ironmonger, adds more value to the distribution chain than in any other industry he has ever known. For this reason, he decided that GEZE UK should become more proactive with its involvement with the Guild. Andrew subsequently became a member of the Executive in June 2000 and in June 2006, was elected Honorary Treasurer. In May 2008, Andrew was elected Vice President and became President in October 2008.

GEZE UK continues to be very active with the Guild and also the Institute and contributes significantly through its sponsorship of annual events and has several staff members serving on Guild sub-committees and the IAI Executive.

“During my time on the Executive, I have always encouraged change and modernisation which I believe are essential for the Guild to represent effectively the membership and to ensure its long term future. As the current President, I am now working closely with Gary Amer our Chief Executive to accelerate the delivery of this much needed change.” AH
